Woodworm
Woodworm refers to the larvae of all wood boring beetles, the most common being: Common Furniture Beetle, Deathwatch Beetle, House Longhorn Beetle and the Powderpost Beetle. All of these woodworm beetles invade and consume wood, and then leave when they have reached maturity. Pest control experts will be able to identify the species from the size and shape of the exit hole, or from the beetle itself.

Rising Damp
Rising damp is the common term for the slow upward movement of water in the lower sections of walls and other ground-supported structures by capillary action.

Dry Rot
Named "Dry Rot" because of its ability to grow into dry areas, this clever fungus has developed the ability to soak up moisture from timber, totally drying it out, with the wood becoming brittle and eventually turning into powder.
